We recently had the opportunity to complete a kitchen remodel in Cypress for a home that was around 25 years old. The kitchen was still in its original state—functional but outdated. The homeowners wanted to modernize the space without breaking the bank, so we focused on maximizing what was already solid while updating everything around it.
The existing cabinet boxes were in great shape, so rather than tearing them out, we gave them new life. We installed sleek flat cabinet doors and painted them for a clean, contemporary look. To tie it all together, we added champagne bronze hardware that added just the right amount of warmth and sophistication.
One of the biggest transformations came from the countertops and backsplash. We replaced the original formica with a gorgeous white quartz featuring subtle veins that complemented the bronze hardware perfectly. The homeowners chose to use the same quartz for their backsplash, giving the kitchen a seamless and high-end finish. We also created a waterfall edge on the island using the same material to elevate the entire design.
Speaking of the island—this was a major game changer. The original 3′ x 4′ island had limited storage and no seating. We rotated it 90 degrees, extended the cabinetry, and built in space for six bar stools. Now, the island isn’t just a prep space—it’s a centerpiece for gathering, dining, and entertaining.
Lighting was another key focus. The kitchen used to feel dim and closed off, so we installed six recessed lights across the ceiling. The added lighting not only brightens the entire space but creates an inviting and airy environment that feels brand new.
We also made a few smart upgrades behind the scenes, like installing a generator plug at the breaker panel for added resilience and convenience.
